After so much cold weather how lucky we all were for Anna and Mark's wedding at Prudhoe Methodist Church on 6th April.
Anna and Mark are from Prudhoe and love the Tyne Valley so it was very quick and easy to pause on route to The Angel in Corbridge.
Although the Angel is in the heart of Corbridge we were able to use the Radcliffe opposite for photos in their garden.
Finally the speeches, much enjoyed by everyone.
It was very kind of Anna and Mark to give me the following feedback.
"the photos are fantastic"

Georgina and Gareth were married at Matfen Hall earlier this year. Just in time for the snowdrops.
What a wonderful colour choice to warm up the winter! The bedrooms at Matfen are lovely to photograph the getting ready time in. How long you would like me to be at your getting ready is up to you, or even if you prefer me not to photograph this part of your day.
As I am quietly there without interference it's a great opportunity to capture the reality of this time.
And then it is all changed, you are married and preparations turn to celebrations.
And everyone has such fun!
I received a lovely thank you card from Georgina and Gareth. " We just wanted to thank you again for the beautiful photographs you took at our wedding. We were keen to have a small, intimate wedding and you captured the spirit of it beautifully. We really appreciated the way you melted into the background and everybody felt so comfortable. Best wishes, Georgina and Gareth.

Winter weddings have their own charm. This was at St peters Church, Newbrough in Northumberland. A country winter wedding.
It's sharp and bright and we are all on our toes.
Bright winter sun, and my shadow.
I always work quickly so that I don't hold up proceedings, but I am even quicker in winter!
But when the natural light is so lovely I only need to keep watching and let things happen.
Off to the winter marquee at the farm and a few outdoor photos at the request of the bride and groom.
Perfect contrast, chocolate and snow!
Light fades, and I left shortly after this, which was just as well as a blizzard blew in!

Deborah and Philip had a fabulous warm day for their wedding at Hexham registry office.
We went for a short walk to the Bowling green for this lovely view of Hexham Abbey.
A stroll through the park gives lovely opportunities for expected and unexpected photos.
Some confetti at the bandstand too!

Alan and Jutta were married at Hexham registry Office in August and got in touch after their wedding to arrange to have some photos taken of the two of them. They brought their beautiful dog too. She's a dream.
They preferred to come to my studio for the session so we took advantage of the sunshine!
Alan and Jutta had only wanted one or two photos but ended up buying quite a few . if you find that you haven't any photos from your wedding day then get in touch. There's a lot to be said for some quiet time after the day itself and whatever your ideas I will be very happy to listen and do my best for you.
Alan and Jutta" Many thanks for you help on this one - the end result is exactly what we wanted."

Gemma and Alex were married at Slaley methodist church. It was a showery day but we had lucky moments between the downpours.
I briefly visited Gemma at home before the ceremony for a couple of photos.
Gemma and her bridesmaids had chosen beautiful vintage dresses.
I like this photo, it tells their story but also shows how I like to mingle with all the other guests taking photographs at the wedding too.
Gemma and Alex had hired teepees for their wedding breakfast, but the downpours had made them unusable so her lovely choice of table settings were housed inside the Hotel itself.
Three great looking pork pies for the wedding cake, fabulous!
Everyone was gathering on the steps at Slaley hall for the everybody photo, the sky darkened, the hailstones came down and people screamed "run", I ran too and the videographer captured it on film. Thats how fond memories are made and kept.

I photographed Katie's wedding in 2000 and Jane her sister is the bridesmaid on the right in the car.
It was lovely then to photograph Jane's wedding 10 years later in 2010 at St Oswin's Church Wylam.
It was December 2010 with sharp and bright winter light.
Confetti lines are wonderful, I love photographing them and it's a great way to mark the new life of the married couple as they leave the church.
Removing confetti in the soft sheltered natural light of the vintage car.
Langley an iconic venue for Weddings.
Jane and Frans wanted to walk up to the castle.
Warm, red, cosy intimate inside the castle, the perfect contrast.

Laura and Euan were married at Hexham Abbey. The groomsmen got ready at Slaley hall Hotel so I spent a little bit of time with them before moving on to see Laura.
Laura's dress suited her perfectly.
It's starting to feel 'real'. It's always an exciting time for me too to head off to the ceremony.
Wedding's at the Abbey are special and attract attention.
Heading off to the reception at the Hexham Hydro Hall, I love photos from inside the car and the beautiful smell of the vintage leather seats.
The Hydro Hall looked beautiful with wonderful flower arrangements.
The evening dancing was a ceilidh, a brilliant end to a wonderful wedding.
